About Rent Receipt Maker

RentReceipt is built and maintained by a small team focused on simple rental paperwork tools. One job comes first: getting a landlord or tenant a clean, numbered, signed record that rent was paid.

How a receipt is made

You fill in the landlord, tenant, address, rent period, amount and payment method, then sign on screen. Your browser numbers the receipt and builds the PDF (US Letter or A4). The figures, names and signature you type are never sent to us. We count anonymous visits and keep any email you choose to send us; that’s all.

What a receipt can and can’t do

A receipt records that a payment happened, from whom, for which period. It doesn’t prove a lease exists. It doesn’t replace bank records, and it doesn’t settle a dispute by itself. Some places have their own rules about rent receipts. Check your state’s or province’s landlord-tenant rules, or ask a local tenant or landlord association.

Not legal or tax advice

The receipts, ledger and letter templates are general forms. We’re not lawyers or tax professionals, and nothing here is legal or tax advice. If a receipt is for a tax claim or benefits application, ask that agency what it accepts.

Plans

Single receipts are free and unlimited. The Landlord Pack and Multi-Property plans aren’t open for payment yet.
