Rent ledger template
A ledger lists what a tenant was charged, what they paid and what is still owed, line by line. Add rows below and the balance works itself out.

Blank printable ledger
Date, description, charge, payment and balance columns, ready to fill in by hand. Free.
Everything you type stays in your browser. Nothing is uploaded; the only thing we count is anonymous page and button use. The ledger is saved in this browser only, so clearing site data removes it. Free: 1 tenant, 12 rows.
How the balance works
A charge, like a month’s rent or a late fee, adds to the balance. A payment takes it away. A positive balance is what the tenant still owes; a negative balance is a credit. Rows are sorted by date, so you can add them in any order.
On paper or on screen
The ledger above lives in your browser and exports to CSV that opens in any spreadsheet. If you prefer pen and paper, download the blank ledger sheet. Free covers one tenant and 12 rows; Landlord Pack lifts the row limit and Multi-Property adds unlimited tenants and a CSV of all of them.
Questions
How many rows can I add for free?
12 rows for one tenant. A year of rent fits exactly if you only record charges, so most people keep one ledger per year.
Where is my ledger stored?
Only in this browser, on this device. Clearing site data or switching browsers starts a new one. Download the CSV to keep a copy.
Does the CSV open in Excel?
Yes. It is a plain CSV file that Excel, Numbers and Google Sheets open.
Is my tenant’s information safe?
The receipt is built in your browser. Names, addresses and amounts are not uploaded, and receipt details are not stored on a server. A copy of your last receipt stays in your own browser’s storage so the next one is quicker to fill in.
